August 2019 Activity and Arrest Summary

On August 3, 2019, at approximately 9:20 pm, Mar-Mac Police investigated a violation of no contact complaint, in Marquette.  Complaint and affidavits were filed accusing David W. Gyorko, from Hawkeye, of Harassment 3rd Degree (simple misdemeanor) and Violation of No Contact Order (simple misdemeanor).

On August 6, 2019, at approximately 11:23 pm, a Mar-Mac Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with an equipment violation.  The driver, Leroy B. Banks Jr., from Trinity, Texas, was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Texas.  Banks was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail.  Banks was cited for No Valid Driver License.

On August 7, 2019, at approximately 5:30 pm, the Mar-Mac Police District, along with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on a vehicle being driven by Lance M. Grimm, from Luana, at the intersection of Marquette Drive and Edgar Street, in Marquette.  The search warrant was in regards to an ongoing investigation involving thefts and burglaries at the Marquette and McGregor marinas.  At the conclusion of the search, various stolen fishing poles, fishing tackle, and fishing accessories were recovered and identified by the previous reported victims.  However, many fishing poles, fishing tackle, fishing accessories, and various tools were seized and are believed to be stolen.  Grimm was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail.  Complaint and affidavits were submitted accusing Grimm of Burglary 3rd Degree (class D felony), two counts of Theft 3rd Degree (aggravated misdemeanor), and Criminal Mischief 5th Degree (simple misdemeanor).

On August 9, 2019, Mar-Mac Police investigated a theft complaint, in Marquette, pertaining to the issuance of a personal check on a closed account.  A complaint and affidavit was filed accusing Brandon L. Burdick, from Prairie du Chien, of Theft 5th Degree (simple misdemeanor).

On August 9, 2019, at approximately 9:14 pm, Mar-Mac Police executed an arrest warrant at a residence, in Marquette.  Jennifer L. Kassinger was arrested on a Clayton County warrant and transported to the Clayton County Jail.

On August 14, 2019, at approximately 3:03 pm, a Mar-Mac Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle where the passenger failed to wear a seat belt.  The passenger, Gary J. Siegworth, from Prairie du Chien, was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Dubuque County.  Siegworth was arrested and transported to Dubuque County.  Siegwork was cited for Failure to Maintain Seat Belt.

On August 24, 2019, at approximately 2:36 am, a Mar-Mac Police Officer discovered a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway on Marquette Drive, in Marquette.  The officer initiated contact and determined the driver had fallen asleep while waiting for a train.  During their contact, the driver, Chris A. O’Connell, from Marquette, displayed clues of impairment caused by but not limited to alcohol.  O’Connell was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail.  A complaint and affidavit was file accusing O’Connell of Operating While under the Influence 1st Offense and cited for Stopping on Paved Part of Highway.

On August 27, 2019, at approximately 1:48 pm, Mar-Mac Police investigated a theft complaint at a business, in McGregor.  After reviewing the available security coverage, Jerry M. Campbell, a transient, was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail.  Complaint and affidavits were filed accusing Campbell of two counts of Theft 5th Degree (simple misdemeanor).

On August 27, 2019, at approximately 3:03 pm, Mar-Mac Police responded to a residence on Center Street, in McGregor, to investigate the discovery of human teeth.  The human teeth was dug up in the back yard.  Upon further examination, the human teeth was found to be a dental casting of someone’s teeth.  Dental casting is used to copy a patient’s teeth for dental purposes.

On August 30, 2019, at approximately 2:16 pm, Mar-Mac Police was notified by the MFL Mar-Mac School District of a student possessing and using tobacco on school property.  A 13 year old juvenile was cited for Underage Possession of Tobacco.

On August 31, 2019, at approximately 2:38 pm, a Mar-Mac Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with an equipment violation on 1st Street, in Marquette.  The passenger, Melinda J. Titus, from Durango, Iowa, was found to be in possession of a substance consistent to marijuana.  Titus was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail.  Complaint and affidavits were filed accusing Titus of Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent Offense (aggravated misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor).
